We all have a secret weapon that hides in plain sight most of the time. What is it? The experiences that have been stored in our memory throughout our life.
It is not only possible to extract and restructure many of those experiences but it is desirable to do so to turn your life around. The positive ones should be
enhanced and used as coping resources for current problems and the negative
ones should be neutralized to prevent adverse effects on physical and mental
health.
To understand why this concept is so profound, you should know
how the brain stores information. Although it is constantly bombarded with
sensory data, it can only absorb a few bits at any one time.
To prevent overload, it filters the bits, permitting only a
fraction of what is out there to get through. It then shapes them to conform to
values, beliefs, and other memories.
So what gets stored is not what actually happened but only your perception of what happened. Your brain has drawn a memory map that does not represent the actual territory. Much of the data has been deleted, distorted, or generalized.
The good news is that nothing need remain permanently stored as originally perceived. Every experience can be changed in two ways.
First, the storyline can be mentally rewritten (called a content change). Second, the framework or structure or stage upon which the story takes place can be altered(called a context change).
In addition, it is possible to construct experiences that have not yet happened but which you would like manifested in the fashion you envision (called future pacing).
The Baratt Core Lore System shows you how to do all that. The process is called "Memory Remodeling".
